with CKMN since 2025!

I’m Mona Hinman-Briscoe—a seventh-generation Colorado native with a deep love for movement, mountains, and mindfulness. I’ve always felt most at home outdoors—skiing fresh powder, hiking high-altitude trails, paddleboarding on alpine lakes, or simply taking a quiet, intentional walk. For me, movement is more than activity—it’s healing. It grounds me, lifts me, and keeps me connected to the present moment. I believe that breath is a superpower, movement is medicine, and mindfulness is the bridge between the two.

My passion for movement was inspired by my parents, who were both fitness instructors and competitive athletes. From an early age, I trained in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap, and gymnastics, and I continued dancing into adulthood through recreational classes in my 20s and 30s. That early foundation in rhythm and discipline shaped my lifelong connection to embodied wellness.

Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of physical pursuits. I’ve been an aerial freestyle skier, professional roller derby player, triathlete, adventure racer, snowboarder, hiker, and backpacker. One of the most unforgettable experiences of my life was being a final finisher on The Amazing Race—a global journey full of intense challenges and unfamiliar cultures that pushed me well beyond my comfort zone. That experience reaffirmed my belief that strength is found in discomfort and joy is found in presence.

Professionally, I spent over two decades in corporate leadership and management, guiding large teams and cultivating strong, mission-driven cultures. My leadership style was consistently praised for its clarity, empathy, and ability to inspire excellence. While I found fulfillment in that world, I eventually felt called to a deeper purpose—one rooted in movement, mindfulness, and healing. I made the bold decision to leave corporate life and fully commit to teaching these transformative practices.

I’m a certified yoga instructor specializing in Vinyasa, Hot, Power, Sculpt, Restorative, Yin, Nidra, SUP, and Trauma-Informed Yoga. I’m also certified in spin and strength/HIIT instruction. My teaching blends physical energy with emotional safety, always anchored by the breath. Whether I’m leading a powerful workout or a gentle restorative class, my goal is to help others build strength, awareness, and trust in their bodies.

I’m especially passionate about working with children, with a strong focus on inclusivity and empowerment. I volunteer my time teaching yoga and movement to foster youth and adopted children, offering trauma-informed practices that support emotional regulation, self-expression, and confidence. Watching children discover their breath as a tool for calm and connection brings me deep fulfillment.

At the heart of everything I do is my family. I’m a proud mom of three amazing children—two daughters and one son. Being their mother is the greatest privilege of my life. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, a retired Fire Captain. We share our lives with our fur baby, a golden retriever, who’s a certified therapy dog, joining me in visits to hospitals, schools, and charity events. My love for animals, especially golden retrievers, runs deep—they’ve always brought joy and peace into my life.

I live by the motto: “Do something every day that challenges or scares you.” I strive to show up with presence, purpose, and courage—wherever the path may lead.
